STL’s Gina Plantz to Speak at Rutgers University Vapor Intrusion Seminar

Severn Trent Laboratories, Inc. (STL) Air Testing Business Development Manager, Gina Plantz, will speak on various analytical techniques for vapor intrusion (VI) investigations at a seminar in conjunction with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP).

The seminar will take place June 14, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Rutgers University-Cook College, New Brunswick, NJ. NJDEP’s VI Guidance Document will be the focus of the one-day course. The document provides guidance for assessing the potential exposure of VI in sites with contaminated soil and groundwater. Ms. Plantz will be joined by representatives from the NJDEP and GeoSyntec Consultants to present an investigative and remedial approach for the VI pathway as detailed in NJDEP’s VI Guidance document.

The following topics will be covered at the seminar: VI Pathway Decision Framework, Screening Levels, Soil Gas and Indoor Air sampling techniques, including a field demonstration of installing a sub-slab soil gas probe, Evaluation of Background Sources, Data Evaluation, Remedial Actions and Community Outreach.
