
Testamerica Laboratories, Inc. Corporate History
In December 2006, Severn Trent Laboratories (aka.STL) was
acquired by an HIG Capital owned company, TestAmerica Holdings,
Inc.and the business operations of TestAmerica and STL were
merged during 2007. Organizationally in 2007, STL changed its name
to TestAmerica Laboratories,
Inc. and in 2008, TestAmerica Analytical Testing Corp. and its'
subsidiary, SEQ Corp. were merged into TestAmerica Laboratories,
Inc. In February 2010, a balance sheet restructuring took place
that changed the ownership of TestAmerica to joint ownership by HIG
Capital (51%) and American Capital Asset Strategies (49%).
Looking back in time at the two companies that were brought together in 2006, there is a considerable history of each of these companies.
TestAmerica Analytical Testing Corporation was created in 2003 by HIG Capital of Miami for the purpose of purchasing TestAmerica Testing Corporation, which had previously solidified its place as an environmental testing industry leader through the acquisition of Specialized Assays in Nashville, Tennessee in 1998. In 2004, TestAmerica Analytical Testing Corporation acquired the six Sequoia Laboratories companies, which included:

These companies were subsequently merged to create SEQ Corp., a subsidiary of TestAmerica Analytical Testing Corporation.
STL was formed in 1997 and proceeded to acquire a number of laboratories/companies over the years, including:

- Commonwealth Analytical Division
- AEN
- ITS
- Envirotech
- The Buffalo and Chicago labs of RECRA
- Savannah Laboratories
- Core Laboratories (Environmental Testing Assets only)
- Radian Laboratory
- EA Engineering Laboratory
- Quanterra
- QED Environmental Systems
- Sound Analytical Services
- Chromalab
