  • Why do I need to register when applying for a job opening?
    • By registering with a user name and password you will be able to access your saved resumes, update your profile, create saved searches and setup Job Agent notifications.
  • What should I expect when I apply for a job opening?
    • The first time you apply for a job opening or create a profile, you will be asked to provide a copy of your resume, complete basic contact information and fill out the voluntary self identification prior to submitting.
  • Can I apply for more than one job using a single application?
    • Yes. From the job search results or your job cart, select as many jobs as you'd like, then click "Apply for Jobs."

Searching Job Postings

  • What are my choices when searching for a job opening?
    • You can search for job openings based on key words, location, job family and job opening ID.
  • I used a common job title in the keyword search but didn't find the jobs I expected. How can I find them?
    • Our job titles sometimes contain abbreviations or acronyms that are specific to our organization. You may want to search again using a job family selection instead of a keyword.

Hiring Process

  • Do I have to apply for every job that I am interested in?
    • Yes. Though our Recruiters search our database for appropriate candidates, the only way to ensure that we know of your interest in a particular position is if you apply for it directly.
  • What pre-employment testing/verification do you do?
    • We require pre-employment drug tests and criminal background screens for every position at TestAmerica. Once you’ve accepted our employment offer, the screens will be initiated and when acceptable results are received, we’ll schedule your start date.
  • How do I get the contact information of the hiring manager for the job I am interested in?
    • It is TestAmerica’s policy not to give contact information to external applicants. If, after you apply, it is determined that your skills and abilities match our hiring needs, you will be contacted directly for an interview.

  • What benefits am I eligible for and what is the cost?
    • TestAmerica pays a portion of the medical plan premium for both employees and dependents. Associates may choose from a variety of plans including:
      • Medical Insurance which includes a Prescription Drug Plan
      • Dental Insurance
      • Vision Coverage
      • Short Term Disability
      • Long Term Disability
      • Life Insurance-$50,000 in free coverage for all eligible associates
      • Accidental Death & Dismemberment--$50,000 in free coverage
  • How does the 401(K) plan work?
    • Associates are eligible to participate in the 401 (k) Savings Plan after working six consecutive months and meeting all eligibility requirements. When you enroll, you choose to save:
      • 1% to 80% of your eligible before-tax income up to current IRS limits, and
      • 1% to 15% of your eligible after-tax income.
    • In order to offer you an incentive to save money for your retirement, TestAmerica will make a matching contribution at a rate of $0.20 per $1.00 on the first 10% you contribute. You vest 20% in the TestAmerica matching contributions for each year of completed vesting service. You become fully vested after completing five years of vested service.
  • How much vacation time do I have?
    • Time off includes a combination of the following, depending on employment type:
      • Paid Time Off program that provides approximately 3 weeks in the first year to be used toward vacation or unscheduled absences such as sick days
      • Six paid holidays and two floating holidays per year
      • Family and Medical Leave
      • Available leave for military service, funeral, jury duty and bereavement

  • What is the dress code?
    • Employees should wear apparel appropriate for the jobs they perform and dress in a businesslike manner. "Business casual" attire may be appropriate for some employees, depending on the nature of the work and who they interact with daily. It is expected that employees dress for work in a manner that reflects an image of professionalism and is not distracting or disrespectful of other employees.
  • Do you offer flexible work hours/schedules?
    • It is essential that TestAmerica be creative in seeking solutions to deliver high quality service to our customers. The company recognizes the importance of assisting employees in balancing the demands of their work and personal life. For these reasons, the company considers alternative work arrangements, where the arrangement makes business sense as defined by the business unit. Management, at its discretion, may institute, modify or cancel alternative work arrangements in particular business units when business needs require such solutions. In the instance of employee initiated requests for alternative work arrangements, such requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and should be considered a privilege, not an entitlement. The company may modify or terminate non-standard work arrangements at any time.
