LEAF Methodology Webinar on March 15

Event Announcement

Tuesday, Mar 15, 2016

TestAmerica, the leader in environmental testing, announces the next installment in its Ask the Expert webinar series. On Tuesday, March 15 at 1:30 P.M. EST, TestAmerica expert Larry Matko will present a webinar entitled The Next Generation of Leaching Methods, U.S. EPA’s LEAF Methods.

The webinar will focus on the environmental chemistry aspects of the Leaching Environmental Assessment Framework (LEAF) methods that were added to the SW-846 compendium of methods. The four next generation leaching methods provide a robust, yet flexible option for environmental applications in which traditional leaching methods are not applicable. The methods represent the broad range of conditions that can occur in the environment, taking into account the influence of pH, liquid to solid ratios and mass transfer rates.

TestAmerica has been at the forefront of LEAF method development and testing since initial concerns were raised over the use of traditional leaching methods (TCLP or SPLP) outside of their originally intended use. TestAmerica’s state of the art facility in Pittsburgh, PA was the first commercial laboratory in the United States to offer LEAF testing methods and has been offering the next generation methods for the past 3 years.

Mr. Larry Matko, Technical Director at TestAmerica Pittsburgh, has nearly 25 years’ experience in the environmental testing industry. His knowledge and expertise in developing and implementing TestAmerica’s LEAF program positioned him as one of the industry experts in next generation leaching methodology.

TestAmerica’s Ask the Expert program provides unmatched access to a nationally recognized panel of more than 30 experts in the environmental field.
