TestAmerica and Partner QED to Present on Sampling and Analysis of Groundwater at Coal Fired Power Plants

Event Announcement

Tuesday, Feb 16, 2016

TestAmerica and QED Environmental Systems will hold two joint webinars as part of the Ask the Expert webinar series. Held on January 26, 2016 and February 16, 2016 at 1:30 EST, the webinar, entitled Challenges and Solutions for Groundwater Sampling and Analysis at Coal Combustion Residual (CCR) Sites, will address the unique requirements of groundwater monitoring programs at Coal Fired Power Plants.

The webinar will be presented by two industry professionals; David Kaminski of QED Environmental Systems, a pioneer in groundwater sampling technology and Patricia McIsaac of TestAmerica, the largest environmental testing company in the United States. Together, Mr. Kaminski and Ms. McIsaac will discuss the newly promulgated EPA rule for CCR management, as well as strategies to avoid costly errors associated with non-compliance and mismanagement of CCR groundwater data. The webinar will address considerations for well monitoring and design, groundwater sampling approaches such as low-flow sampling, laboratory analyses and deliverables for CCR sampling, and the avoidance of false positive results.

Mr. David Kaminski is Senior Vice President of QED Environmental Systems and is a frequent presenter on groundwater sampling technology to organizations, universities, and regulatory agencies worldwide. He has been awarded four U.S. patents for developing new devices and methods for groundwater sampling applications and is an instructor of the Princeton Groundwater Pollution & Hydrology course (www.princeton-groundwater.com). Over the past 30 years he has published papers on groundwater sampling practices and sampling system design, and has presented these topics at more than a hundred conferences, seminars and field courses.

Ms. Patricia McIsaac is the Utility Sector Product Manager for TestAmerica and has more than 30 years of experience in the environmental testing industry. She is an expert on environmental testing requirements and new regulations impacting the Utility industry, including Subtitle D CCR Groundwater Monitoring requirements, evaluation of CCR for beneficial use and the EPA’s new Effluent Limitation Guidelines. Ms. McIsaac earned her B.S. from Cook College at Rutgers University and an M.S. from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

TestAmerica’s Ask the Expert program provides unmatched access to a nationally recognized panel of more than 30 experts in the environmental field.
