TestAmerica Examines New Changes for Determining Method Detection and Quantitation Limits at the 6th Annual EM/DQ Workshop
PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday, April 01, 2009
For Immediate Release
Dr. Richard Burrows, TestAmerica's Technical Director, will present on new procedures designed to determine method detection and quantitation limits. The presentation will be given at the 2009 DoD Environmental Monitoring & Data Quality Workshop from March 30 - April 3, 2009 in San Antonio, TX.
The EPA has been studying possible changes to basic procedures for determining detection and quantitation limits and for measuring the quality of calibration curves. This presentation will explain the changes that are under consideration, and will examine the improvements in data quality that could be realized if they were implemented.
Dr. Burrows, Director of Technical Services at TestAmerica, is actively involved with environmental methods and technique development through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL), and Federal Advisory Committee on Detection and Quantitation. Dr. Burrows' method development work has involved bringing new perspectives to method detection limits (MDLs), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), environmental reference materials, volatile and semivolatile organic compound methods and HPLC/MS.
