Ambient Air Overview

TestAmerica’s comprehensive ambient air testing capabilities for volatiles, semivolatiles, metals, particulates, dioxins, PCB congeners and pesticides far surpass any other laboratory in the environmental testing industry. Leveraging our capabilities and expertise, TestAmerica has become the laboratory network of choice for individuals and companies seeking ambient air testing services.

TestAmerica has more than 25 years' experience analyzing ambient air samples, and we have teamed with clients to address some of the most significant and complex environmental ambient air issues.  Our labs are respected for twenty five years of contributions to ambient air testing through participation in state and federal regulatory work groups and independent organizations.  We provide expertise in many areas including:

  • Soil Gas and Vapor Intrusion Programs
  • Manufactured Gas Plant Monitoring
  • Landfill Gas Analysis
  • Perimeter Monitoring at Soil and Sediment Excavations

TestAmerica Experience

TestAmerica provided analytical laboratory support to a utility client for the remediation of contaminated soils. The remediation plan required a daily air perimeter-monitoring program due to the site's proximity to residential areas. TestAmerica assisted in the development of the project-specific QA Plan by providing technical input on laboratory issues. For this program, samples were collected in canisters, PUF/XAD cartridges and quartz fiber filters. Ten samples for each analysis were collected per day, 7 days a week, for a total of more than 7000 samples. Air analyses performed by TestAmerica included VOCs by Method TO-14A, PAHs by Method TO-13A, metals on filters by Method 6010B and particulate matter by method PM-10. Data deliverables included a client-specific report, and results were reported within 1 to 7 calendar days from sample receipt (depending on the parameter).
