EPA’s Revision to the 40 CFR Part 136 Method Detection Limit (MDL) Procedure

Friday, April 10, 2015 - 1:30 P.M. Eastern *ENCORE PRESENTATION*

About this webinar:

The Method Detection Limit (MDL) procedure was published in 1984 and since then has been a source of considerable confusion and disagreement. It is, however, used almost universally as the procedure for determining detection limits in environmental testing.

On February 19th, the EPA published a major revision to the MDL procedure in the Federal Register, the first significant revision since the original publication. This webinar will cover the changes to the MDL, the reasons for change and the impacts on data users and laboratories.

Topics the presentation will cover:

  • Changes to the MDL procedure
  • Reasons for change
  • Impacts on laboratories and how laboratories should prepare
  • Overall impacts on detection limits and how this could impact regulated industry and other data users

Who should attend?

  • Regulated Industry and Data Users - Managers responsible for environmental compliance
  • Laboratory Managers and Quality Assurance officials
  • Regulatory Officials
  • Data Validators

A question and answer session will immediately follow the presentation. At the conclusion of each webinar, you will be asked for your feedback and opinions for future webinar topics to be developed by TestAmerica.

The Presenter:

Dr. Richard Burrows
