Challenges And Solutions For Groundwater Sampling and Analysis at CCR Sites

About this webinar:

With the new US EPA rule for Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) management in place, environmental managers at electric utilities face a new set of challenges complying with groundwater monitoring requirements. Avoiding costly errors requires an understanding of the process from top to bottom - the design and installation of the monitoring well network, the sampling method and protocol, selection of the right analytical methods, and the management and reporting of analytical data.

In this webinar, David Kaminski with QED Environmental Systems and Patricia McIsaac with TestAmerica Laboratories will guide you through the process, highlighting key concerns and offering solutions that can help you meet your compliance targets and assure the most accurate and precise data to minimize risk and cost.

Presentation topics will include:

  • Monitoring well design considerations
  • Traditional groundwater sampling approaches
  • Well purging and sampling practices
  • Low-flow sampling to control sample quality
  • Sample handling, preservation and shipment
  • Selecting the right analytical method to avoid "false positives"
  • Data reporting and electronic data deliverables

The presentation will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A session to answer your questions about groundwater sampling, sample analysis and data management.

Who should attend?

  • Electric Utilities CCR Groundwater Monitoring Managers
  • Electric Utilities Groundwater Sampling Technicians
  • Environmental Engineers and Specialists
  • Environmental Managers
  • Regulatory Program Managers
  • Groundwater Sampling Contractors
  • Engineering Firms
  • Hydrogeologists
