Introduction to Generating Quality Vapor Data with Comment on U.S. EPA's Recently Released Technical Guides

Tuesday, February 9, 2016 - 1:30 P.M. EST

About this webinar:

The process of systematically evaluating the indoor inhalation risk from sub-surface vapors began with the EPA's publishing of "OSWER Draft Guidance for Evaluating the Vapor Intrusion to Indoor Air Pathway from Groundwater and Soils" in 2002. That document served as the genesis for the multitude of regulations, programs and methods that are being employed today. As of June 2015 we now have finalized guidance from the U.S. EPA on assessing this pathway.

As these regulations and programs have developed and matured, the overall process of collecting and reporting quality data has become a difficult highway to navigate. This presentation will focus on clearing the landscape to facilitate navigation through the analytical process in support of these regulations and programs.

The presentation will be given from the perspective of an environmental testing laboratory and our 15 years of experience supporting Vapor Intrusion investigations.

Topics the presentation will cover include:

  • Regulatory overview - new guidance released from U.S. EPA on 6/11/15
  • Analytical methodologies and challenges for soil gas, sub-slab & indoor air
  • The impact and selection of equipment in support of said methodologies
  • Long-term monitoring, passive sample collection and analysis
  • Managing an air project with the laboratory; what you need to know

Who should attend?

  • Consultants and Engineers
  • Regulatory Officials
  • Commercial and Industrial Stakeholders

A question and answer session will immediately follow the presentation. At the conclusion of each webinar, you will be asked for your feedback and opinions for future webinar topics to be developed by TestAmerica.
