DoD ELAP and the QSM - A Laboratory Perspective UPDATED

Tuesday, July 11, 2017 - 1:30 P.M. EDT

About this webinar:

The Quality Systems Manual (QSM) Version 5.1 was released on January 6, 2017 for immediate use. TestAmerica has conducted a detailed review comparing Version 5.1 to 5.0. We noted more than three dozen changes. While many of the changes are in the nature of clarifications, there are some key changes that are more significant and that everyone working in the program should be aware of. The purpose of this presentation is to share with you highlights of our review, and to share with you an approach to setting up projects that can optimize the efficiency of projects when working with the laboratories.

Topics the presentation will cover:

  • Accreditation and oversight under QSM 5.1
  • Key changes of QSM 5.1 to QSM 5.0
    • General requirements
    • New Methods
      • Radon Scintillation (Ra-226 by Lucas Cell)
      • GC/MS Analsis of Air Samples
      • SVOCs by GC/MS in SIM Mode
      • Incremental Sampling Methodology (ISM)
    • Important revisions to existing methods
  • Implementation at TestAmerica
