Benzene Fenceline Monitoring at Refineries - Method 325b

Tuesday, April 25, 2017 - 1:30 P.M. Eastern

About This Webinar:

On September 29, 2015 the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued the final Risk and Technology Review and New Performance Standards for refineries. The rule is based on two emissions standards already in place at refineries: the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants From Petroleum Refineries (Refinery MACT 1) and the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Petroleum Refineries: (Refinery MACT 2). This new rule requires the monitoring of benzene air concentrations at the fenceline of refineries.

Methods 325A (sampling) and 325B (analysis) were developed as part of the rule and provide details on how petroleum refineries are to deploy passive time-integrated samplers at the fenceline of their facility to collect fugitive emission data for benzene.

In this presentation, we will summarize the regulatory framework for the new rule, highlight changes made from the proposed rule, discuss basic concepts of passive diffusive monitoring and discuss considerations when working with a laboratory.

Topics Presented:

  • Regulatory Overview
  • Compliance Timeline
  • Sampling and Sampling Points
  • 325 Method Overview
  • Quality Assurance Samples
  • Shipping and Handling of Passive Tubes

Who Should Attend?

  • Consulting and Engineering firms
  • Environmental Professionals engaged in MACT compliance at refineries
  • Environmental Professionals looking for more knowledge about passive sampling techniques

A question and answer session will immediately follow the presentation. At the conclusion of each webinar, you will be asked for your feedback and opinions for future webinar topics to be developed by TestAmerica.
