Dr. Joseph Edwin

Data Review Analyst, TestAmerica
Mass Spectral Chemistry

Dr. Joseph Edwin has over 20 years of experience in the environmental testing industry and over 44 years in chemistry research.

As TestAmerica's Data Review Analyst, Dr. Edwin has provided his expertise in online method development and the implementation of GC/MS methodologies. Dr. Edwin is primarily responsible for employing the GC/MS method in SIM mode under the Status and Trends Program for analyzing Alkylated PAHs in environmental samples. He has also played a key role in implementing the new CLP method SOM1.0 through SOM1.2 for analysis of semivolatile organics.

Dr. Edwin is the technical expert for performing optimization of GC/MS methods for the analysis of Volatiles and Semivolatile organics in water, soil, sediment, tissue and PUF samples. He also continues to supervise new analysts and is a technical consultant to project managers and lab chemists in performing data review and QA/QC functions related to GC/MS analysis of volatile and semivolatile organics by CLP, SW-846 and other special analytical methods such as Isotopic Dilution and SIM techniques.

Dr. Edwin earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Philipps University in Marburg, Germany.
