Energetics and Explosives

Karen Kuoppala has over 25 years of experience in analytical laboratory, quality assurance, and operations management in the environmental testing industry. She has been responsible for a wide variety of areas in TestAmerica laboratory operations, and analytical services supporting DoD environmental programs.

Ms. Kuoppala's technical experience in explosives and incremental sampling provides expertise with the development and implementation of quality assurance project plans. This includes the integration of program and project specific requirements within operations.

Ms. Kuoppala has been actively involved in the method development of hydrazine by IC, emerging contaminants by LC/MS/MS, and explosive degradation compounds by GCMS. She has provided TestAmerica with technical oversight for the expansion of the incremental sampling procedures to include non-explosive parameters.

Ms. Kuoppala earned her BA in Chemistry and Geology from the University of Colorado.
