Current Trends in Dioxin Analysis and Data Use
About this webinar:
The imminent finalization and release of the EPA's Dioxin Reassessment framework has triggered renewed interest in Dioxin contaminated sites and analyses. First released to the public in draft form in 2004, the Dioxin Reassessment document was subjected to a rigorous and comprehensive external review process. The EPA has released a preview of key components of the final Reassessment, including their 2009 'Guidance on Recommended Interim PRGs for Dioxins in Soil at CERCLA and RCRA Sites' which incorporates updated toxicity data. The final response to the external reviews and incorporation of relevant changes in the Reassessment document are scheduled for release in early 2012.
In our Webinar, we will provide an overview of some of these regulatory dynamics and discuss some of the recent trends in evaluation of Dioxin data, including increased assessment of 'Dioxin-like' PCB congeners and utilization of Dioxin analytical data to assist forensic evaluations. Detailed review of Dioxin analytical data can yield important clues about possible sources of contamination, which the judicious user can interpret in conjunction with other site information to answer questions relative to cost allocations, insurance litigation, property transfer, and toxic tort. TestAmerica Dioxin expert Eric Redman will describe the wealth of forensic information embedded in the details of Dioxin analytical data.
Topics the presentation will cover:
- Regulatory Changes
- Dioxin-like PCB Congeners
- Use of Dioxin data
- Update on PRG's for Dioxins in Soils
Who should attend?
- Consultants and Engineers
- Regulatory Officials
- Data Validators
A question and answer session will immediately follow the presentation. At the conclusion of each webinar, you will be asked for your feedback and opinions for future webinar topic to be developed by TestAmerica.
