Most environmental professionals are well-versed in chemical analysis methods, instrumentation, and data review. However, when it comes to radiochemistry, many do not feel comfortable when reviewing or validating results.  Even for those with a relatively sound background, there are some tips that may help expedite the process.  Basic calculation equations, with specific application to several common radiochemistry methods, will be presented and described.  In addition, quality control (e.g. tracers/carriers, LCS, MB, and DUP) and data evaluation (e.g. uncertainties and “detection limits”) parameters will be covered.
