Metals Analysis Evolution – Basic Principles to the Latest in Trace Metals

Tuesday, November 19 - 1:30 P.M. EST

About This Webinar:

The first part of this webinar will discuss the historical development of analytical techniques for metals analysis in environmental chemistry, including flame atomic adsorption (AA), graphite furnace AA, inductively coupled plasma (ICP) with optical emission spectroscopy, and ICP mass spectrometry. Pros and cons of the instrumental techniques will be discussed, along with basic principles and typical performance criteria.

The second part of this webinar will cover the analysis of Low-Level Metals or Trace Metals in fresh, brackish, seawaters, and hypersaline waters. This will include a discussion on the analysis of a full suite of trace metals in fresh waters including ICP-KED-MS (ICP-Kinetic Energy Discrimination- MS) and ICP-QQQ (ICP-Triple Quadrapole) as well as online chelation – ICP-MS for seawater.

Topics the Presentation Will Cover Include:

  • General Overview of analytical techniques for metals analysis
  • Pros and Cons of instrumental techniques
  • Trace level metals analytical approaches for fresh, brackish, salt and hypersaline waters
  • Review of the EPA methods (SW-846 Methods & EPA Office of Water Methods)

Who Should Attend?

  • Consulting and Engineering firms
  • Industry Representatives
  • Regulatory Officials
  • Data Validators

A question and answer session will immediately follow the presentation. At the conclusion of each webinar, you will be asked for your feedback and opinions for future webinar topics to be developed by Eurofins TestAmerica.
