Metals Analysis Evolution – Basic Principles to the Latest in Trace Metals, Part 1 - Basic Principles

Tuesday, April 28, 2020 - 1:30 P.M. EDT

About This Webinar:

This is the first Webinar in a series on Metals Analysis. We will discuss the historical development of analytical techniques for metals analysis in environmental chemistry, including flame atomic adsorption (AA), graphite furnace AA, inductively coupled plasma (ICP) with optical emission spectroscopy, and ICP mass spectrometry(ICPMS). Techniques and methods typically used today for routine metals analysis will be presented. Pros and cons of the instrumental techniques will be discussed, along with basic principles and typical performance criteria. Limitations of routine methods and techniques for overcoming them will be presented in subsequent Webinars.

Topics The Presentation Will Cover Include:

  • General Overview of analytical techniques for metals analysis
  • Pros and Cons of instrumental techniques
  • Routine ICP-OES and ICPMS techniques – strengths and weaknesses
  • Review of EPA methods (SW-846 Methods & EPA Office of Water Methods)

Who Should Attend?

  • Consulting and Engineering firms
  • Industry Representatives
  • Regulatory Officials
  • Data Validators

A question and answer session will immediately follow the presentation. At the conclusion of each webinar, you will be asked for your feedback and opinions for future webinar topics to be developed by Eurofins TestAmerica.
